Villa Late
Set and Event Design for the late-night talk show Villa Late
Villa Late was developed as an entertainment format aimed particularly at a young adult audience. The design combines a colourful contemporary look with the relaxed atmosphere of a living room and modern basement bar, creating an environment that feels informal and welcoming while remaining visually coherent on camera.
The space is organised around several interconnected areas: an intimate setting for conversations between host and guests, a dedicated live-music area, a small bar integrated into the televised set and a larger counterpart serving the live audience. Together with the audience seating, these elements extend the visual identity of the show beyond the camera frame, creating one shared environment for performers, guests and spectators.
Furniture, decoration and custom-built elements were selected and developed as part of a consistent visual language, with sightlines and camera perspectives considered throughout the process in consultation with the camera team. The two bars were designed as related structures at different scales, visually connecting the televised set with the surrounding event space.
Working within an agreed production budget and without workshop support, the set combined custom-built elements with sourced furniture and individually created details, including the bar structures and hand-painted chalk signage.
