A day with
Leonardo da Vinci

Leonardo da Vinci was a universal genius and one of the greatest inventors of all time. Yet today, he is often remembered primarily as the painter of the Mona Lisa. To mark the 500th anniversary of his death, I created the following interactive and immersive production, inviting audiences to discover a more personal and vivid side of Leonardo’s world and daily life.

Throughout the performance, the audience is invited to step into the role of Leonardo’s students. They attend his lectures, collaborate with him on creative projects, and explore the streets, gardens, and marketplaces of Renaissance Milan. Passing through an arched corridor, visitors enter the scenography and symbolically travel back in time, directly into the students’ quarters of Leonardo da Vinci’s workshop in Milan.

Performance Design

The following images present the 1:50 scale model of the spacial design, created to fit within any standard sports hall. Through the large-scale scenography and the variety of interconnected locations within the set, the production aims to fully immerse the audience in the atmosphere of 15th-century Milan, creating the sensation of having travelled back in time.

(The images are shown in the same sequence in which the audience experiences the spaces during the performance.)
